Clarity. Courage. Change.

Why these three words changed my life

People often ask me why these three words mean so much to me.

The answer is simple.

Because they’ve shaped my life.

Not once.

Several times.

For years, I was a single mum bringing up two children.

I worked incredibly hard.

I wanted to provide a good life for my children. I wanted people to know I was dependable. A safe pair of hands. Someone who could always be relied upon.

If I’m honest, I felt I had something to prove.

So I worked harder.

And harder.

Sometimes at the expense of my own health.

I thought success meant pushing through, keeping everyone happy and never letting anyone down.

Until one day I realised something.

I wasn’t asking myself a very important question.

What do I want?

That was clarity.

Not having all the answers.

Just being honest enough to recognise that the life I was living wasn’t fully aligned with the life I wanted.

The same thing happened in my career.

I was successful. I enjoyed recruitment and I was good at it.

But success and fulfilment aren’t always the same thing.

There came a point where I realised I didn’t want to spend my life being measured by targets, KPIs and someone else’s definition of achievement.

I wanted something different.

That took courage.

Because once you see the truth, you have a choice.

Stay where you are.

Or do something about it.

Over the last few years, I’ve made some pretty radical changes.

I moved to a cottage in the middle of a field.

I walk my dog every day.

I spend time in silence.

Sometimes it’s just me, a coffee and classical music playing quietly in the background.

It probably sounds like a cliché.

But I’ve never been happier.

The funny thing is, when I was making those changes, I remember thinking:

What on earth am I doing?

Was I making a mistake?

Was I walking away from the life I was supposed to want?

Looking back now, I wasn’t losing myself.

I was finally finding myself.

The same thing happened in business.

I realised parts of what I was doing weren’t aligned with who I am.

I didn’t want to simply help people find jobs.

I wanted to help people find themselves.

To understand what they wanted.

To build confidence.

To make better decisions.

To create lives that felt authentic to them.

That created change.

Looking back, every significant moment in my life followed the same pattern.

First came clarity.

The moment I could no longer ignore the truth.

Then came courage.

The decision to do something about it.

And finally came change.

The life that was waiting on the other side.

That’s why Clarity. Courage. Change. isn’t just a framework to me.

It’s the journey I’ve lived.

And it’s the journey I now help others navigate.

Because so many people are stuck.

Not because they’re incapable.

Not because they’re lazy.

Not because they’re broken.

They’re stuck because they’re unclear about what they really want.

So I’ll leave you with one question.

If fear wasn’t part of the equation, what would you change?

And if you’re reading this thinking, “that’s exactly where I am right now”…

Reach out.

Sometimes all we need is someone to help us untangle the noise, get clear on what we really want and find the confidence to take the next step.
